The Grateful Dead was an american rock band that formed in 1965. The band was known for it's unique and eclectic style which combined elements of rock, folk, bluegrass, blues, reggae and country. They were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1994.

The group disbanded in 1995 following the death of one of their band members. Since that time however, there have been many reunions by the surviving members involving various musicians.
