Star Trek is an American sci-fi entertainment franchise currently owned by CBS and Paramount In 1966, the original series was launched and was followed by multiple spin-off shows.This franchise also produced many films, games, novels and figurines. The series has it's own language called "Klingon" and it's fans are called "Trekkies"
